Ingredients
Filling
- 2 lbs apples (I prefer Honeycrisp, but feel free to use your favorite)
- 1/2 cup granulated cane sugar
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Topping
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted vegan butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Peel the apples and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- Place the cubed apples in a bowl and mix with your sugar, flour, and cinnamon, then pour in your lemon juice. Toss, then spread evenly out in an 9x13 baking dish.
- Mix all your topping ingredients except the butter until evenly combined, then slowly pour in your melted butter while mixing with a spatula. Mix until clumps form, like wet sand.
- Crumble the topping over the apple filling, then transfer to the oven to bake for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown.
